About Mole Removal

Moles are removed for two very different reasons — concern for skin cancer, or because a benign mole is irritated, catching on razors and clothing, or simply unwanted — and the reason shapes the technique. Dr. Blair Harris evaluates each mole first, with a biopsy when there is any question of atypia, and then selects shave removal or full surgical excision accordingly. As a Mohs surgeon accustomed to operating on the face, he places a premium on the cosmetic result of every removal.
